This website contains the adventures, thoughts and ideas of Mikkel Martin and the log entries of his ship; Orakelmusen. Orakelmusen is a Manzanita ¼ tonner!

added by mikkel 11.08 local time Så er starten på FynCup gået for vores vedkommende.
Fed start!

added by mikkel 23.43 local time Hmm ... I am not proud of watching a underwater video I made a couple of weeks ago during a fishing trip. There is about two weeks untill the upcoming FynCup 2010, and I guess I got to get Orakelmusen on to some dry land to clean up below the waterline and repaint he.

added by mikkel 21.10 local time well... Orakelmusen went racing this afternoon and lost. There is no other way to define what happened.
We made it on time to start and followed all the other boats upwind. But then... everybody else had spinnakers :( Orakelmusen does too - but I am not too keen on using them.
After all ... we had a funny race and made it all the way to the finishing line with plenty of happiness on board.
added by mikkel 22.13 local time wow... everything spells like spring here in Denmark.
Orakelmusen just made it back to port from a cool day filled by adventures. I did not bring her far away from home... just to the beach of Fredericia with some friends to hang out doing a barberque on a camp fire and test the new dinghy. It worked pretty good.
We met some students from the School of Architecture in Copenhagen. They needed some pictures taken from the sea side and it was a pretty cool experience to assist them :)
Sven and Anders got their first sailing trip in the dark, that was fun in a fresh breeze. I really love sailing in darkness.
What nice spring day... I am so much looking forward to update more adventures to my website.

added by mikkel 02.01 local time I went geocaching cause I could not sleep... then I met a lizard at a remote location that told me to quit the treasure hunt and sit down to watch the sea ♥
added by mikkel 18.35 local time wow... went sailing for the first time this year!
There was a lot of dirt and dust on board, but I kept my focus and went sailing. Sidsel fixed up the engine very cool.
We just got back from cruising Lillebælt. We lost a camera to the sea... so no video today. But we had a very nice trip... to be repeated tomorrow.

added by mikkel 22.17 local time My good friend Jan sent the picture below today...: Orakelmusen and Antares (Sune's boat) lying together in the ice.
It reminds me that I really and deeply miss the summertime and how wrong I was thinking this winter would be like all the other winters. Last year, sailing at this time was very much possible.
Today the plans for summer of 2010 have been sketched. In July Orakelmusen shall sail to Bragdøya, Norway and return to Copenhagen in the beginning of August and spent that month there.
I really miss going sailing!

added by mikkel 10.33 local time I am sorry if my design experiments on this site have been confusing. I am gonna stick to this one for quite a while.
Many topics in the old database was written in Danish. They shall remain in Danish. However, future updates on this site will be in English (also in the videos, if possible) to maintain accessibility for all you great people online or on the seas.
As far as I know, there are 122 Manzanitas out there (hopefully sailing) - differentiated by not sailing Danish waters and having a crew, whom might not understand the Danish language.
I sincerely hope future English updates will not make my website less attractive.
